International Day

International Day

We had a fantastic International Day today. It was such a pleasure to see the children involved in a wide variety of exciting activities to introduce them to their chosen country, everything from Chinese writing to Peruvian worry dolls. It was also great to see the children celebrating their own cultures and countries. We would like to say a massive thank you to all parents who donated a dish for our International Food Fair. Every child in the school (and all of the adults!) had the chance to try a diverse range of food everything from Indian samosas to South African Bobotie. The children were really brave in trying some new and unusual foods. Parents went to a massive amount of effort to give them this opportunity so thank you again. We also welcomed many parents and grandparents in to school to create a family page for our International Families Book. Keep an eye on the photo gallery for more snaps. The day was rounded off beautifully as I was able to present a Headteacher's Award to a boy in Year 4 who had created a PowerPoint presentation to share with his class all about his home country of Pakistan, including videos and photographs of him dancing at family weddings. Well done to everyone for a great day.
