Year 3

Welcome to Year Three

Year Three are the first year of Key Stage Two.

In Year Three we begin to develop into really indpendent learners. This is the first year of Key Stage Two and we will spend the next four years developing our skills ready for the move to secondary school in Year Seven.

We are taught many new things in Year Three, from new mathematics to key historical facts, and we work really hard to make a good start to this important Key Stage.

Our hard work is all taught through our very exciting Imaginative Learning Projects:

Learn about creepy crocs and amazing alligators, the deadly assassin bug and the voracious Venus fly trap. Be inspired to write all about your favourite predator then use what you know about the best of beasts to create the ultimate predator.

Head back to prehistoric times to gather berries and hunt down dinner. Unearth ancient objects and visit astonishing mystical monuments that reveal the secrets of an ancient time. Work as a tribe to build a monument – what tribal tales will you have to tell?

Discover the dangerous and ferocious world of natural disasters and glimpse their savage and deadly effects. Visit the ancient city of Pompeii then create your own blistering explosions from model volcanoes that fire foamy lava…

Discover a fantastical world full of mythical creatures and legendary heroes. Explore the terrains of Ancient Greece then decide your own fate when a mysterious box is found and stirs your curious mind. What could be inside…?

Explore the scientific world of forces and magnetism, metals and materials. Expand your mind as you test and trial, build and move. Then meet Hogarth, the Iron Man’s companion… the Iron Man wants a friend – can you build him one?
