Year Three marks the beginning of Key Stage 2 and is an exciting stage in children’s development as they become increasingly independent and confident learners.

We build on the knowledge and skills developed in Key Stage 1, encouraging children to think deeply, ask questions, solve problems and take greater responsibility for their learning.

Across the curriculum, children develop their understanding in a wide range of subjects, including English, maths, science, history, geography and the arts. Learning is designed to be engaging, purposeful and appropriately challenging, with opportunities to work independently, collaborate with others and apply new skills in different contexts.

We continue to place great importance on positive relationships, resilience and respect, helping children to grow in confidence and develop the skills they need to thrive throughout Key Stage 2.

Above all, we want Year Three to be a year in which children feel excited by new challenges and proud of the progress they make.
