As visitors enter The Russell School grounds, they are immediately struck by the extensive facilities that are on offer and the richness of our green space. The children at The Russell School are extremely fortunate to have such varied opportunities for outdoor learning.

We are able to offer our children extensive playing fields and playgrounds as our site covers more than three acres. As we have recently moved into our school building, we are developing an Environmental Area with a natural pond, a variety of habitats for wildlife, a thriving allotment, new play spaces and an outdoor classroom.

Our classrooms are light and airy with generous open aspects. The staff work hard to ensure that our displays celebrate achievement and promote learning. Each classroom provides easy access to an outside space with all year groups benefiting from covered learning areas. Our corridors are wide and spacious, also enabling learning outside of the classroom. We have a large hall with gymnastics equipment and a fully sprung floor. We have a fabulous Food Technology Kitchen and a beautiful, well stocked library.

The entire school community works hard to provide the very best learning environment for our children – new projects and ideas, such as growing our own wheat for bread and keeping chicks, are always being explored to make the school an even better place to learn, play and grow.
